Devonna Sue Wampler was born July 6, 1949, to Forrest Eugene and Hazel Irene Pagan in Bristow. She departed this life Aug. 16, 2022 at the age of 73.

Sue graduated from Bristow High School in 1967. On Sept. 3, 1974, Sue and Roger Wampler were united in marriage. They enjoyed 26 years together until his passing Jan. 18, 2000.

She worked at many different places including Walmart, Kwikset. She was also a nurse’s aide and managed a bookstore. She loved reading books, needlepoint, cross stich and tending to her animals. Sue was very artistic and enjoyed painting and drawing.

She is survived by her mother, Hazel Stubblefield; three daughters, Casie Black and husband Clayton, Angelia Michelle Hallman, Sunshine Hicks and husband Michael; one sister, Genie Duvall and husband Jack; seven grandchildren, Alexcia Black, Kyle Black, Ashley Lecoq, Nicole Lecoq, Madison Lecoq, Katelynn Lecoq, and Tristen Hicks; one great grandson, Levi Martin; three nephews, Justin Arrington, Gerard Arrington, and Bradley Duvall; family friend, Michelle Kolts.

She was preceded in death by her father, husband, and stepfather, Bill Stubblefield.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 20, 2022

at the Hutchins Maples Matherly Funeral Home with Reverend Gene Jackson officiating.
