Della Ann Allison, 1939 - 2021

Della Ann Allison was born Nov. 6, 1939, to Robert and Gladys Glidewell in Anadarko. She departed this life April 16, 2021, at the age of 81 years, five months and 10 days. Della was a 1958 graduate of Anadarko High School. Della married her high school sweetheart, Merle Allison on Oct. 12, 1956; to this union were born two children, Merle Jr., and Cindy. Merle Sr. and Della brought their family to Bristow in 1974 making the community their forever home. They shared many years of love and laughter. Merle Sr. predeceased her on Oct. 2, 2010.

Della worked many years as CFO at Bristow Medical Center where she would later retire. A member of First Baptist Church, Della was faithful to her Lord and Savior. Family time was important. She was active throughout the community with Beta Sigma Phi. As well, she loved to travel, was a painter when the mood struck her, and took on the task of feeding every bird in the community; she especially loved her dog Tucker. Della always made time for dominos with friends and could spend hours watching the Hallmark channel.

Della is survived by one son, Merle Allison Jr. and wife Jenny, of Bristow; one daughter, Cindy Allison, of Bristow; four grandchildren, Amber Allison, of Tulsa, John Allison, of Honolulu, Hawaii, Andy Allison and wife Rocky, of Bristow and Amelie Riffe, of Bristow; two great-grandchildren, Landon and Logan Allison; her dog Tucker and numerous friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 56 years, Merle Allison Sr.; three brothers, Ed, Bob and Raymond.

Graveside Services were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at Bristow City Cemetery with Reverend D J Carney officiating.
