Delbert Ray Hinshaw, a long time Cushing resident, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2021 in Tulsa, at the age of 79.

Funeral services have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing and were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2021 in the Assembly of God in Stroud, with Rev. Jeroyme Jackson and Rev. Michael Harris officiating. Burial followed at Oak Dale Cemetery, Depew.

The son of the late Howard Ira Hinshaw Jr. and Mona Jane (Vines) Hinshaw, Delbert was born on May 6, 1942 in Depew. He was reared and educated in Sapulpa, graduating from Sapulpa High School with the class of 1960. Delbert was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force from 1960 to 1962. After returning from the service, Delbert was united in marriage to Judith Ann Taylor on May 24, 1963, in Keifer, and to this union four children, Howard, Douglas, Bryan, and Kimberley were born.

Delbert loved the Lord and put him first in his life. He pastored churches for 53 years which included Jennings, Depew, and most recently Cushing. At the Full Gospel Grace Assembly in Depew, he with the help of other pastors and the community built this church in 1978. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching Nascar, wood working, remodeling and fellowship. He collected and studied Bibical Lineage.

Delbert is survived by his four children, Howard Arthur Hinshaw and wife Dena of Bristow, Douglas Allen Hinshaw and his wife Kresha, of Bristow, Bryan Glen Hinshaw and his wife Katrina, of Depew, Kimberley Alice Leatherwood, of Jenks, sisters Jo Ann Helton and husband Buck, of Sapulpa, Jeannie Rollins and her husband Darrell, of Sapulpa, 15 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Judith Ann Hinshaw, grandson Christopher Allen Hinshaw and sister Linda Larason.
