Cindy L. Whitaker was born the daughter of Richard A. and Cora B. Drullinger in Tulsa, on July 26, 1946. She departed this life on Jan. 2, 2024 at the age of 77 years, five months, and 7 days, after an unexpected brief illness.

Cindy was raised and educated in Tulsa and was a 1964 graduate of Nathan Hale High School. She was a person of many talents, including in her younger years as an accomplished ballet dancer. She attended St. John’s Episcopal Church in Tulsa. Cindy was a compassionate and loving person and also an ardent dog lover. Over the many decades she especially cherished the companionship of her dogs:

July 26, 1946 - January 2, 2024 Joe, Hunter, Ceasar, Princess, Ginger I and Ginger II. Cindy had a long and varied career and worked for many years as an administrative assistant in the executive offices of The Williams Companies in downtown Tulsa from whom she retired. At the time of her death, she was employed by TMA Systems. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister: Sharron L. Loeffler.

A devoted sister, daughter, aunt, and companion, Cindy is survived by her sister, Carolyn McKinley and niece, Caryn Kersting Scoles of Owasso; nephew: Mike Loeffler and wife, Stacy, of Bristow; her companion of some 35 years: Edward Newman, of Tulsa;, as well as numerous cousins, three great-nephews, a great niece, and many friends.

Cindy will be laid to rest in Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa on January 9, 2024 at 2 p.m. A service celebrating her life was held at that time in the Chapel in Memorial Park with Vicar Keith Fallis of the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, Sapulpa, presiding. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Michael’s Funeral Home Bristow.
