Charlie Frederick Greene Jr. was born June 10, 1942, to Charlie and Wanda Greene in East St. Lois, Illinois. He departed this life Feb. 27, 2024 at the age of 81.

Charlie served his country faithfully and honorably in the United States Navy. He and Carol Glenn were married October 21, 1967, they made their home in Depew. Charlie and Carol were instrumental in founding Valley View Church of God where they served the Lord faithfully. Charlie was a charitable man and gave selflessly when needed, one of his favorite charities being St. Jude’s. He loved children and wanted to make sure they were taken care of. Charlie was a proud veteran, a member of the V.F.W. and the DAV. He was a freight truck driver for many years and upon retirement led a simple life of raising cattle, fishing, occasional Duck hunting and reading a good book.

Charlie is survived by two grandchildren, Jessica Tipton and Joey Greene, both of Sapulpa; two great grandchildren, Jack Tipton and Kayla Tipton; two cousins, Nona Ponder and Larry Wernle; also a good friend, Caroline Rider.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carol; one son, Randy Greene and sister, Visillia Spencer.

Funeral service were held at 10 a.m., Monday, March 4, 2024 at Hutchins-Maples Matherly Chapel. Graveside services will follow 3 p.m. that afternoon at Johnson Cemetery in West Siloam Springs, Oklahoma.
