November 10, 1958 - February 11, 2024

On Sunday, February 11, 2024, Bruce C. Coleman passed from this life and ascended to heaven to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Although he will be dearly missed, it is also time to celebrate a life well lived. Bruce was born in Seminole, Oklahoma on November 10, 1958 as the second child of Brice and JoNell Coleman. The family moved numerous times over the years, then settled in Bristow, Oklahoma.

Bruce graduated from Bristow High School in 1976. He continued his education at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma where he graduated with a degree in Criminal Justice in 1982. It was there that he forged lifelong friendships when he pledged and became a member of the Acacia Fraternity in the fall of 1979.

Following college Bruce embarked on his professional career. Bruce was always known to be a fiercely, loyal man, so it was no surprise that Bruce remained with Quikrete as a sales representative for over 30 years. Throughout his career, Bruce acquired just as many friends as he did colleagues.

In 1986 Bruce’s daughter Erin was born. Erin was the apple of her father’s eye, and he was always proud of her, watching her graduate from OSU and later become a Physician’s Assistant. In August of 1999, Bruce married the love of his life, Kim Coleman, and they established their lives and home in Broken Arrow. This union gave Bruce the immense joy of becoming a father to Melia Matsler, and later, a doting grandfather to Melia’s three children.

Bruce had many pursuits that made him happy. He was a voracious reader, an avid football fan, a fantasy football enthusiast, and a loyal Sooner and Red Sox fan. Bruce loved to play golf, loved wolves, large cats, and “lunching” with friends. When people would ask what Bruce liked to do, the best and most honest answer is that he loved being a friend to others, always lending a hug and a listening, attentive ear. He would always try to help and be there for anyone he could. Above all else, Bruce loved God and his family to his core. Bruce is preceded in death by his father Brice Coleman. He is survived by his wife Kim Coleman, his daughters Erin Coleman and Melia Matsler, his granddaughters Stormie, Teigan, and Preslee, his mother JoNell Coleman, his brother “Big Larry” Coleman and wife Pam, and brothers Mike and Lewis Coleman, plus numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bottom of Form Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00AM, Saturday, February 17, 2024 at the Bristow Free Will Baptist Church with interment to follow at the Bristow City Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Hutchins Maples Matherly Funeral Home.
