Billy Gene Stubblefield was born Sept. 18, 1929, to Samuel Cleveland and Verna Ruth Stubblefield in Bristow. He departed this life May 19, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family at the age of 92.

He served his country in the United States Army from Oct. 7, 1955, to Oct. 4, 1957. He had two children, Gina, and Terry. He spent several years on the road as a truck driver. During his younger years he enjoyed going coon hunting.

On Nov. 15, 2000, Bill Stubblefield and Hazel Pagan were united in marriage. They were active members of the Bristow First Free Will Baptist Church. Bill had a genuine heart and loved people. He will be missed by the many family members and friends he leaves behind.

He is survived by his wife, Hazel Stubblefield; one son, Terry Stubblefield; two step daughters, Devonna Sue Wampler, Genie Duvall and husband Jack; grandchildren, Casie Black and husband Clayton, Michelle Hallman, Sunshine Hicks and husband Michael, Justin Arrington and wife Tracy, Gerard Arrington and wife Kristen, Brad Duvall and wife Tamara; great grandchildren, Kyle and Alexcia Black, Ashley, Nicole, Madison, and Ketelynn Lecoq, Tristen Hicks, Delilah Dorroh, Abigail Arrington, Maggie Duvall, William and Ellie Duvall; one great great grandson, Levi Martin.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Gina Stubblefield; three brothers, Cleve, Don and Bob as well as five sisters, Peggy Jackie, Betty, Rosemary and Faye.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 23, 2022 at First Free Will Baptist Church with Reverend Gene Jackson officiating. Burial followed at Bristow City Cemetery.
