A memorial service for Bristow resident, Bettie Blankenship, was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, 2024 in the Memorial Chapel of Michael’s Funeral Home of Bristow. Bettie was born in Purcell, on Sept. 30, 1942 to the late Curtis Marvin Atchley and Hazel May (Franks) Atchley. She passed from this life in Bristow, on Dec. 30, 2023 at the age of 81 years and three months. Bettie was raised andeducated in Purcell. She married Gar Gautsche and they made their home in California where she attended SanDiago University. They later divorced andshe moved back to Oklahoma to be closer to family. She married Bob Blankenship and they made their home in Meeker until moving to Bristow in 1977. Bettie had worked in retail sales all of her life; working at Tulsa Prominadeand Woodland Hills Malls for Clinique Cosmetics until her retirement in 2002. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two sons: Chuck Blankenship and Brad Blankenship; her second husband: Bob Blankship in 1991; and her first husband Gar Gautsche in 2014.

She is survived by three children: Tim Gautsche, of Bristow, David Blankenship, of Texas and Brian Blankenship of Chandler; grandchildren: Chelsea, Kaylee, Fenway, Kenoxley, Ellie and Presley; one brother, Curtis Atchley, Jr. of Texas; plus numerous other relatives and friends.
