Alexander Hernandez Rodriguez was born April 24, 1940 to Juan and Katalina Rodriguez in Granger, Texas. He departed this life Oct. 6, 2021, at the age of 81 years.

Alex Rodriguez and Christine Wells were united in marriage Nov. 10, 1966, in California. They raised three children.

Alex proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, reaching the rank of First Sergeant. His twenty plus year career took him around the world, including his tour in Vietnam, service in Okinawa, and U.S. Embassy assignments in Saudi Arabia and Beirut. He served as a recruiter, drill instructor, and later, as an instructor at the DI School at MCRD San Diego.

After his retirement from the Marines, Alex and Christine moved to Depew, with their youngest son in 1979, fulfilling their dream to return to the country life in which they were both raised. Always industrious, Alex began a second career with local company KWIKSET, in addition to building his cattle ranch and working as an auctioneer. Alex was strong in his Catholic faith, attending mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church, where he was also a part of the Knights of Columbus. He was devoted to helping others, especially veterans. He gave his time to both the V.F.W. and American Legion and was instrumental in coordinating the monthly veterans breakfast at Crossroads Diner in Bristow, OK.

Alex is survived by one daughter, Georgiana Domingo ,of Bella Vista, Arizona; two sons, Tony Rodriguez and wife Marlene, of Tulsa, and Marcus Rodriguez and wife Darla, of Sapulpa; one sister, Marie Owens, of Rockford, Ilinois; eight grandchildren, Neil Dieterle, Christine Asbell, Joel Rodriguez, Laura Domingo, David Domingo, Sarah Rodriguez, Kerri Domingo, and Christopher Rodriguez; 13 great grandchildren, Lacey Asbell, Mackenzie Cook, Michael Trail, Kit Rodriguez, Leighton Saville, Cooper Dieterle, Reese Dieterle, Liam Saville, Matthew Trail, Avery Saville, Kason Rodriguez, Arthur Short, and Adley Saville; and two great-great grandchil dren, Jacey and Charlie Asbell.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Christine; one sister; three brothers; grandmother; one grandson, Max Rodriguez; and one great grandson, Cory Rodriguez Saville.

Graveside services will be held 11:30 am.., Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2021 at Oakdale Cemetery in Depew, with Father Grant officiating.
