This September, in celebration of National Library Card Sign-Up Month, the Bristow Library is inviting community members to discover everything a library card has to offer - and giving them an extra reason to sign up.
Everyone who signs up for a library card during the month of September will be entered into a drawing to win a book-themed gift. The giveaway is open to new cardholders, and current library cardholders can participate too. Existing cardholders can refer friends, family members, coworkers, neighbors, or anyone else who may benefit from the library. Each person you refer who signs up for a library card gives you another chance to win - the more referrals you make, the more chances you have! And there is plenty to discover once you have a card.
A Bristow Library card provides free access to thousands of resources and services, including:
• More than 25,000 physical resources, including books and other materials for readers of all ages and interests.
• eBooks and audiobooks through Libby, available to enjoy from home or on the go.
• Mobile hotspots for free internet access.
• Ancestry, providing access to valuable genealogy and historical research resources.
• Programs for all ages, from children and teens to adults and families.
• A Seed Library, where community members can discover, share, and grow new plants.
• A Sensory Room, providing a welcoming space designed to support sensory needs.
• Brainfuse online tutoring,offering educational help and homework assistance.
• JobNow online career assistance,including resources to help with job searches, resumes, and employment preparation.
• VetNow online veterans assistance,connecting veterans and their families with helpful resources and support.
Every one of these resources and services is free with a library card. The Bristow Library serves anyone who lives or works within 50 miles of Bristow, and there is no cost to get a library card. Whether you are looking for your next great book, need reliable internet access, want help with homework, or simply looking for something fun to do, a library card can connect you with resources that can make a difference.
“People sometimes think of a library card as simply a way to check out books, but it is so much more than that,” said Justice Sweger, Library Director.“A library card opens the door to an incredible number of free resources and services for people of all ages. We hope our September giveaway encourages people who don’t have a card to come see what their library has to offer, and gives our current cardholders a fun reason to spread the word.”
