There are four historical landmarks, in Bristow, all located on Route 66, that the Bristow Historical Society is hoping to save, by renovation, for future generations to enjoy. The project is called the Route 66 Landmark Renovation Project. The landmarks consist of the 1923 Frisco Train Depot, the 1929 Frisco water tower, which is one of only two Frisco Towers remaining in the United States, Town Square and the Chrysler Plymouth sign that has withstood the test of time since the 1950's. The town square is in need of painting and renovations. The society is hoping to re-light the Chrysler tower, in order for it to shine above the treetops once again and are hoping to have the project completed but 2026 in time for the 100th anniversay of Route 66.
The historical society is asking for donations to help make all of this happen. One hundred percent of your donations will go towards the landmark renovation project. Donations can be mailed to PO Box 1224, Bristow, OK 74010 or a Go Fund Me account has been set up. If you would like more information as to how you can help make this project become a reality, contact the Bristow Historical Society.
