The Bristow Police Department is holding a “picnic with a police” event for two days, June 29 and July 6. What a great way to get to know your local police and let the children see that policemen and police women are just as normal as everyone else and that they are here to serve the community. These events will be held at 11:30 a.m. after the Summer reading program at the Montfort and Allie B. Jones Memorial Library. Chief Kendra Raney says, “It is very important to me to get involved with these kids activities so the officers can show them that cops are just normal people.”
The event will be held on the front lawn of the police station. All you need to do is bring a sack lunch, a picnic blanket and enjoy your lunch. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
