The most unrelenting winter weather pattern in decades unleashed brutally unseasonable cold weather, along with snow over the past few days. Frigid temperatures covered most of the state with some areas reaching a windchill of - 30 degrees. Monday morning, Bristow showed a temperature of -4 degrees with wind chills at -26. A bitterly cold Monday, with a high of 8 degrees. Snow packed roads covered the community, and on Wednesday, another round hit. Is this going to end? The answer is yes. The forecast says that we will continue to be in a deep freeze most of the week but the pattern will begin to change near the end of the week with temperatures in the 40's. Oklahoma has not seen deep freeze conditions since January 1930 when the temperatures fell to -27 degrees; and in February 1905 with a temperature of -22 reported. Oklahoma City has not fallen to -10 degrees or more in over a century.
Several areas had multiple car pile-ups due to the icy conditions the state had before the snow fell.
