Bradley Goodin, former Bristow Police Officer who has not been employed with the department since November 2019, was sentenced to a 15 year prison term under the terms of a plea agreement with prosecutors. In addition, Goodin will serve 20 years of supervisored release by the U.S. Probations Office.
Goodin plead guilty in April to charges of abusive sexual contact involving a child under the age of 12 years after prosecutors dropped all charges but one in two superseding indictments.
A hearing took place. Thursday, Aug. 26, 2021, in the U.S. District Court for the Northeastern District of Oklahoma with U.S. District Judge Gregory Frizzell perciding and approving the plea agreement between Goodin and the prosectors.
Goodin was originally charged in Creek County District Court with lewd molestation and child sexual abuse involving two children, ages 8 and 11 at the time. Those charges were dropped in September as the state did not have jurisdiction to prosecute Goodin following the U.S Supreme Court's McGirt ruling. Prosecutors filed a superseding indictment in November that added one count of abusive sexual contact in Indian Country that involved a third child and one count of possessing multiple firearms after being subject to a protective order for domestic violence.
A sentencing memorandum was submitted on Goodin's behalf urging Judge Frizzell to waive a $5,000 assessment because Goodin is indigent and will never be able to work in any type of field that requires state certifications or license. That privilege will be lost to him after he becomes a felon. The records stated that Judge Frizzell approved the waiver of the $5,000.
The investigation against Goodin began in October 2019. At that time, he was put on administrative leave from the Bristow Police Department and had only been an officer for the department for approximately six months.
