On Thursday, Aug. 26, 2021 the Oklahoma State Health Department reported more than 4,000 new cases of COVID-19 in a 24 hour time frame. That is twice as many cases than was reported the day before, on Wednesday, the number of case reported were 2,534.
The Delta variant of the virus is more contagious than the original variant. Statewide hospitalizations for COVID-19 are attributed mainly to unvaccinated Oklahomans. It is the only thing that is going to stop the spread of this horrid disease.
Across the state, an increase in cases is being seen, especially now that students are returning to school and colleges. Bristow Public Schools continues to keep parents update on its website as to the COVID situation at school. COVID is taking its toll on both staff and students.
