According to OSHD and CDC reports, as of Feb. 1, 5,608,887 total vaccine doses have been administered with 2,739,774 Oklahomans receiving at least one dose. A total of 2,183,000 or 55 percent have completed both vaccines or are fully vaccinated. Currently there are approximately 1,500 Oklahomans in acute care with Covid; out of these 70 plus are children.Omnicon variant cases are starting to see a decline in positive cases. With Omnicon displaying more milder symptoms than the previous strains, experts say it is easy for people to think they just have the common cold. The most common symptoms of Omnicon seem to be a sore throat, mild headaches and congestion. Some people who have had COVID are experiencing long term effects even a couple months after having COVID.
Are we on the down hill of this pandemic? According to reports, the answer is yes but we aren't there yet. Getting life back to normal is just around the corner if we continue to take protective steps and limit exposure and infections.
