The Bristow City Council held a special meeting Monday afternoon to discuss with the trustees of the hospital authority, the elected review committee, along with the council members, the entities who submitted responses to the Requests for Proposals for the operation of the Bristow Medical Center. Four entities gave a 30 minute each presentation on why they felt they were the best for overseeing the operations of the hospital. After each presentation, the review committee, who is made up of Councilman Judd Johns, Mark Ihrig, Stacy Loeffler, David Roberts, Dr. Chip Cooper, Dr. Jason Remington and Cody Wissell, was allowed a 15 minute question and answer session for any questions or concerns regarding the presentations for the operation of the hospital. The committee will review each proposal and make its recommendation to the city council on who they feel would best for the needs of the hospital, the City of Bristow and its residents.
After the recommendations of the committee are made, the decision then falls into the city council’s hands on who will be chosen to operate Brisow’s hospital and eventually the new Bristow Medical Center.
After the special meeting, the board members held their regular meeting, discussing agenda items from health insurance benefits for the city employees for the Fiscal year 2021-2022 to an abatement on a local property.
The city council holds its meetings on the first and third Monday of each month. The public is always welcome.
