Make your way to Bristow on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2022 for the Bristow Western Heritage Days festival. With the return of the festival, a fun filled day for the entire family has been planned and organized. The festival will begin at 9 a.m. and end at 3 p.m. Celebrating the city's rich western heritage, this great and unique festival will draw visitors from all around. The parade will begin at 10 a.m. lead by a longhorn cattle drive down Main Street. The parade will also feature cowboys, an assortment of tractors, roundup clubs from surrounding areas, local businesses, churches and other organizations, making it a unique experience for the entire family. Prizes will be awarded to winners in several categories.
The festival will include food trucks, live music, a beer tent, craft vendors, exhibitors, a climbing wall, activities, a petting zoo, inflatables, entertainment and boutique shopping. Live music will be featured all day at the entertainment stage which will be set up near the beer tent. Have you seen the world's tallest cowboy? Now is your opportunity. He will make an appearance for the crowd and interact with spectators.
Also visiting and performing at the festival is the 1st IN DIV Commanding General's Mounted Color Guard (CGMCG). There will be a demonstration of the Calvary Tactics and a colors presentation, with a meet and greet the troopers and US Army Branded horses. The active duty officers, NCO's and troopers have set their boots in 22 different countries and 15 combat tours. The festival will coincide with the the Western Heritage Days Rodeo on Friday evening, Aug. 19 and Saturday, Aug. 20. The rodeo will be held at the rodeo arena, in Bristow. This rodeo draws the fascination of athlete's and spec tators from all over.
