The city council meeting was called to order on Monday evening and roll call was done with the mayor and council members present. After roll call, invocation and the Pledge Allegiance was given and the council members buckled down to business.
The board approved adopting a resolution approving the city council meeting dates for 2022. Next item up for discussion was taking action to make a recommendation to the Board of Adjustment to modify the setback lines to construct a new church building and an attached drive thru awning at the Bristow Holiness Church lo cated at 114 W. Fourth Street. The council discussed possible approval to award a quote to provide broadband service to city hall.
One abatement on property located at 618 East 5th and being owned by Fran C. Aguilera was discussed. The possible abatement is for dilapidated buildings on the property.
The council then discussed taking possible action of adopting a resolution determining the costs of $3,271.85 for removal of dilapidated buildings located on property at 721 S. Walnut owned by Edward R. McCollum c/o Angelina McCollum and also $407.41 costs for removal of dilapidated buildings on property located at
511 East Third, owned by Fay Ragsdale.
The board then went into executive session to discuss the employment of Ashley Hinshaw as water billing clerk, Leon Proctor as a public works employee and employment of Eugene Gore as a public works employee. After returning from executive session, the board heard comments from the city attorney, mayor and council members adjourning and moving forward to the municipal authority and hospital authority side of the meeting where the board discussed payment of claims in both authorities and approving meeting dates for the 2022 calendar year both authorities.
