America has voted, Biden will become our 46th president
After almost a week long wait after election day, America chose Joe Biden as the 46th U.S. President, along with his running mate, Kamala Harris, who made history becoming the first woman to be elected to the White House.
After the announcement of the win, Saturday, Biden spoke to a group of horn honking, enthusiastic supporters. The president-elect stated that he was humbled by the trust and confidence that America had placed in him and he pledged to be the president who seeks not to divide but to unify.
Biden and Harris will take their oath of office Jan. 20, 2021.
The president-elect announced that his first step as president will be to name a group of leading scientists and other experts, on Monday, to create a blueprint to combat the deadly coronavirus.
Also on the voters ballot was State Questions 805 and 814. Both of these questions failed to pass. On State Questions 805, 61 percent, meaning 922,156 voters marked their ballots No with 527,502 registered voters wanting the ballot to pass. State Question 814 also failed to pass with 59 percent or 876,407 voters voting No and 41 percent voting Yes.
U.S. Senator Jim Inhofe easily won the senate seat with 63 percent of votes, (977,813 votes). Local Kyle Hilbert, House District 29, won another term with 82% to his opositions 18 percent of votes. Todd Heitt retains his Oklahoma Corporation Commission seat with 76% percent of votes.
This election had more voters than any other in history.
