On April 9th, Mayor Kris Wyatt, along with a group of walkers, did a Walkability study in order to apply for a grant through the Oklahoma Department of Transportation's transportation alternative program, to be used for a sidewalk from the high school to the football field. Last week the city was notified that a $300,036.00 grant was awarded to Bristow towards the installation of a sidewalk. Mayor Kris Wyatt said, “ This is great news for Bristow. Since we just received notice about the grant, we have no start date for installation of the sidewalk.” According to the mayor, the sidewalk will go down Ash Street from the high school to the football field.
