There has been some confusion as to when bulk trash pickup day is for different areas of the community. If your regular trash pickup is on Monday, bulk pickup is the first Wednesday of each month, if your regular pick up is on Tuesday, bulk pick up is the second Wednesday of each month, if your regular pick up is on Thursday your bulk pick up is on the third Wednesday of each month, and if your trash pick up is on Friday then bulk pickup is the fourth Wednesday of the month.
Bulk waste should be placed by the curb before 6 a.m. on the Wednesday pick up. You are allowed two cubic yards per month. Two cubic yards is comparable to a pick up bed full. Items should be place at least five (5) feet from any mailbox, gas meters, cars, shrubs or anything that would interfere with pickup, both hand and mechanical pickups. Bulk waste pick up is for items that would not normally be picked up with your regular trash and regular trash is not picked up on bulk trash days. All items left at the curb should be able to be lifted or handled by two persons.
Items that may be picked up on bulk day are tree limbs, wood scraps and bushes. These items need to be tied and bundled in bundles no greater than 4 feet and 18 inches in diameter, and the bundles should not weigh more than 55 pounds; fencing, remodeling waste from do-it-yourself projects not from contractors. Appliances and air conditioners can be in the bulk trash but can not contain freon. The compressor in these items must be removed. Extra large cardboard boxes must be broken down and tied into bundles.
Items that should not be included in your bulk trash are hospital or medical waste or hazardous waste of any kind such as poisons, acids, caustics and explosives; dirt, rocks, brick, concrete, railroad ties, gasoline, kerosene, oils or other fuels, propane tanks, degreasers, brake fluid, antifreeze, batteries, tires rims, car batteries, liquid paint, roofing items, sheet rock pieces or any type of contractual construction waste.
It is the property owners responsibility to dispose of any non-allowable or hazardous items. If you have any questions or need to make special arrangements before pick up day, contact Green Environmental at (918) 367-9116 or by email at greenenvironmentalsevices. ok@gmail.com.
