Last Saturday, December 7, Santa visited Molly and Socks Christmas Tree Farm north of town. Santa proved far from the only visitor, though, as many area residents and even visitors from out of state stopped by for holiday fun, including a family from Arizona. Even former Bristow Public Schools Coach Chuck London visited with family and friends. Darla Adcock, former Added Touch owner, and her family also enjoyed the lovely weather for some holiday fun.
Farm visitors were treated to outdoor games of corn hole, basketball, and some tossed around a football as well. Youngsters rode a barrel train amongst the farm’s trees, fed the goats, stopped by photo drop backgrounds to take advantage of unique photo opps, had their pictures taken with Santa in his sleigh, made smores at the large outdoor firepit, and played together on toys and playground equipment—all laughing, regardless of age. Those photos with Santa in his sleigh? They were provided by photography studio Sarah B. Photography out of Welty, who has forged professional and personal relationships within the Bristow community and local businesses as well.
Many families chose Christmas trees for their homes, founding or renewing family traditions with farm owners the David and Sherri Hurst and the Bristow community. Observing multigenerational families agree on a tree, offered bystanders an innocent joy and welcome sight in the community this holiday season.
As Bristow grows and expands its Cowboy Christmas and seasonal activities, seeing residents and visitors enjoy the weather and local offerings elicits joy and hope for many in the community, especially during the holiday season.
