As a chronically online teenager in the sports space, I see a lot of trends. So today, I would like to talk about social media. Sports is very pop culture heavy, and as social media evolves, even more so.

Caregiving has many forms. There is the total helplessness of a newborn baby. There is the total helplessness of a special needs adult child who has never spoken a word. The special needs child who has never eaten a bite of food, taken a step, or toileted alone.

In the dim and distant past, when life's tempo wasn't fast, Grandmas used to rock and knit, crochet, snooze and baby-sit. When the kids were in a jam, they could always call on 'Gram', In the days of gracious living, Grandma was the gal for giving.

Family Discussions

I get much enjoyment out of watching my one-year old striped gray tabby cat chase the leaves during the fall and winter weather. When we first got him last spring, he chased anything that moved, and learned to catch grasshoppers (and eat them....good protein!), and chase strings, twigs and grass.

A book title, “It Was On Fire When I Laid Down On It” caught my eye a few years ago. Curiosity being what it is, I looked up the story behind that title. True story. A small local fire department was called to put out a house fire. They also found and rescued a man trapped inside.
