OKDHS continues to encourage online applications and renewals for benefits in response to Coronavirus Disease 2019

As the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) situation continues to develop in Oklahoma, Oklahoma Human Services (OKDHS) encourages customers to use online tools to make application for or renew services rather than physically coming to an office whenever possible. To ensure public and worker safety, OKDHS will not allow individuals who are sick or who have been exposed to someone who is sick to enter agency buildings.

Justice for Atlas

We first met Atlas last week when he was found Feb. 27, 2020, in the 7700 block of South 49th West Ave. Someone had strapped Atlas's hind legs together. Atlas was unable to move. Glue was poured into his ears and food wrappers had been stuffed into his ears. Even though Atlas was in bad shape when he was found, the Humane Society nursed Atlas back to health. He had several procedures done and it is reported that he is doing quite well today. Atlas is expected to make a full recovery.

Helpful Tax Time Tips

Don't look now, but tax season is getting closer. It's not something most of us enjoy thinking about or dealing with -- indeed, 16% of respondents to an AARP survey said they'd rather spend a night at the airport than prepare their taxes, while 36% would just as soon visit the DMV.
