Where on Earth Is Jesus?

The young man told a religious friend, “I just don’t understand how God can love me after all the wrong things I’ve done.” He went on to say, “Where is Jesus?”

His religious friend answered, “He’s right next to you.”

“Really? How can I be sure?” “Just believe. It’s by faith.” How would you have replied to that young man? What do the New Testament scriptures teach? The young man learned where Jesus is while continuing his Bible studies. Where in the world is Jesus?

Please read the following verses in your own Bible. The apostle Paul writes, “You are clearly a letter from Christ. It is not written with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God. It is not on stone tablets, but on the tablets of human hearts!” (2 Corinthians 3:3). The Corinthian church wasn’t perfect, but they were sealed with the Spirit of Christ.

Paul writes, “You are in Christ, too. You heard the true message, the Good News about your salvation. After you believed you were sealed in Christ with the Holy Spirit whom God promised. The Spirit is the guarantee that we will receive our inheritance” (Ephesians 1:13-14).

Paul clearly states that the Holy Spirit of Christ Jesus is in the believer! Chapter 8 in the book of Romans is filled with Spirit-speech. He begins by saying that “the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set the you free from the law of sin and death” (vs. 2). The “law of sin and death” condemns you for committing just one sin. You need Jesus!

Some voluntarily place themselves under that law. They worry about keeping a record of all the good they think they’ve done, trying to appease God. Can doing good deeds really cancel out the bad ones? “God did what the law could not do; He sent His own Son as an offering for sin” (vs. 3). Paul clearly states, “We are living by following the Spirit, not by following human nature” (vs. 4). Paul further says, “People who follow the Spirit are thinking about the things that the Spirit wants” (vs. 5).

“The way human nature thinks is death, but the way the Spirit thinks is life and peace” (vs. 6).

Where in the world is Jesus? Is He living in you? When God gives you the Spirit of life, then your sins are truly forgiven. Do you have the Spirit of Jesus in you?
