A few weeks from now, on September 11, our country will remember the worst terrorist attacks on American soil. We’ll honor those who perished. Like most U.S. citizens, you were probably stunned that such a human plot could happen here.
We are currently watching, in real time, the devastation occurring on the Hawaiian island of Maui. You may not have visited the lush volcanic-formed island, but you can relate to those who are fallling victim to the horror that is transforming the lives of so many Americans. Many residents felt safe because nothing before had happened that was this destructive.
When the end of your world comes to you face-to-face when you least expect it, what will you do? The middle-aged parents received a knock at their door. It was 4 AM one August morning. A state trooper asked to come in and told them to sit down. He brought the horrific news that their youngest son was killed while he was helping a stranded motorist. What will you do if there’s no warning? Please seek Jesus!
Another middle-aged woman was diagnosed with cancer. It was painful news to her husband and their three daughters. You would do everything possible to get your wife or mom the medical treatments she needs to see this unwanted invader to remission. Weeks later her doctor gave the family the report they wanted: “You are cancer free! You can travel wherever you want to go.”
Suddenly, without warning, her doctor told her that the cancer had returned. Within two days of this painful news the woman was dead. How could this be? What will you do if there’s no warning? Please seek Jesus!
The news came without warning. “Your son was killed in a car wreck.” Imagine the pain you’d feel hearing those words! What would you do? Please seek Jesus!
“Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; and in your Book were written all the days of my life, when as yet there was not one of them” (Psalm 139:16). God knows when you will take your last breath. What will you do if your final moment comes when you were not expecting it? Please seek Jesus, today! He knows you, but do you know Him?
