A Sapulpa Police Officer was attacked by a dog while serving a search warrant on a home in Sapulpa.

The police said the dog ran out of the house, before they could get the door secured, biting the officer in the arm. The officer was fighting off the dog, when he pulled out his gun and accidentally shot himself in the arm, also hitting the dog.

The dog let go of the officer and ran toward the two officers that had the female in custody. They took out their pepper spray and sprayed it, the dog then ran under the trailer.

The police say they have dealt with the suspect before, and knew the dog was there and that the dog has been known to be viscious.

The bitten officer will have surgery on his hand, but unfortunately the dog died.
