Recycling is coming to Bristow. Replenysh (Replenysh.com) is a Californiabased software company dedicated to eliminating landfills. Founder Mark Armen describes a “circular economy” whereby products are recycled and reused continually, moving from the manufacturer to the consumer and back to the manufacturer. Repleysh works directly with companies such as PepsiCo, Kum & Go, Niagra Waters, and several manufacturers to frow the market for used materials. There are strong, viable markets in the US for used materials and Replenysh helps connect the dots of supply and demand. They are eager to bring a new experience to Bristow, to help the community effectively collect and market materials and create abundance for all who live here.

Armen reached out to Kris Wyatt, when an email she had written to PepsiCo was forwarded to him. Wyatt has, for the past three years, been looking into ways to bring a recycling opportunity to Bristow. Wyatt said, “This is such a great opportunity. Other organizations required investment of land and containers and funding just to pilot a program. This approach simplifies the process, and is a whole new way of looking at recycling.”

Initially, Bristow will have pick up events. Dates and times can be scheduled according to the response to the first drive, which will be Saturday, February 27 from 10am-1pm at the Walmart parking lot. Items accepted are: Corrugated cardboard and carboard boxes, such as cracker and cereal boxes. (Please remove the inner liners.) Aluminum cans, such as soda and beer cans. Metal cans, such as soup and vegetable cans. PET 1 plastics, such as water bottles and the plastic produce boxes. HDPE 2 containers, such as milk jugs and detergent containers. Please note that lids and labels can be left on, but that the items need to be separated into their appropriate groups. This makes the process more efficient and therefore less expensive. One hundred percent of the material value will be donated to a local charity. For our kickoff event, Bristow Social Services will be the recipient of the proceeds.
