ast October, Bristow welcomed a new business: Pirate Energy. Owners Wesley and Sherrie Harper first moved to Oklahoma in 2015 when Wesley’s job relocated. Although they first connected with businesses and schools in the Mannford community, in recent years, they chose Bristow to meet their children’s schooling and business needs.

Pirate Energy not only provides the Harpers income and tasty protein treats for patrons but also helps them better connect with Bristowans, which Sherrie greatly enjoys. Specifically, she stated that “the Bristow community is amazing” with its caring and welcoming nature toward their family and business. Additionally, she expressed gratitude for the support, kindness, and helpfulness of the high school softball community towards her children. She stated the community’s support “is one of the best things about Bristow”. Excitedly, Sherrie also noted how “very, very, very neat Cowboy Christmas was. I can’t wait for Christmas again.”

As for how she came to be involved with Herbalife Nutrition, Sherrie said that she got into working out, improving her health. Her friend also owns a store in Mannford, so since Sherrie desired to help others meet their weight loss and fitness goals, she decided to open her own store in Bristow with her friend’s guidance along the way. Meeting additional people within the community, helping others realize their weight goals, and making friends proves to be the most enjoyable aspect of owning and operating Pirate Energy for Sherrie.

Asked to describe Pirate Energy, Sherrie said it is a health and juice bar, offering Herbalife Nutrition protein-packed muffins, shakes, coffee, hot chocolate, parfaits, protein balls, and energy loaded teas. A few perks also accompany each purchase.

For example, customers receive a loyalty card with their first purchase and receive a punch each time they make additional purchases. On “Double Punch Fridays”, customers receive double punches as the name aptly implies. Once customers have made ten purchases and received punches for all of them, customers receive a free level 2 tea or shake when presenting the fully punched card. Additionally, weekend purchases grant customers a scratcher card. Scratching away the concealer reveals a surprise reward applied at their next visit.

Speaking of surprises, Sherrie said that any new customer who brings in the article or specifically mentions their favorite part of the story will receive a surprise with their first purchase.

Pirate Energy is located at 219 South Main Street, Suite D, just north of the old Beach House location. Operating hours are Monday through Friday from 4:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
