Pilots enjoyed Bristow Airport Facility

While making a recent stop at Bristow’s Jones Memorial Airport, I met 2 pilots utilizing the new facility. Pilots Erick Womack and Joe Roberts of Oklahoma City landed at the airport for a short break and switched pilot and passenger positions along their day’s flight path.

With the chance to enjoy the beautiful weather of the day, the two set out May 14 “to waste some fuel [amid laughter among friends]”and add hours of flight experience. “We learn more every time we go up and have fun, too.”

The friends met while in flight school through the Wiley Post Airport in Oklahoma City. Upon completion of the flight training program, they remained friends and partnered for the purchase of their Beechcraft Musketeer plane, which they flew the day I had the pleasure of meeting them.

Womack had visited Jones Memorial Airport previously. He recalled the experience, saying “I first landed in Bristow during flight school on a dual cross-country flight with my flight instructor. It was winter, so the grass was brown. We couldn’t find it well.”He smiled and chuckled again, continuing “It was much better today.”

Roberts praised Bristow’s facilities, saying “This is my first time here at Bristow’s airport, at least with the new terminal or FBO, and this is outstanding. The people of Bristow should be proud of this.” FBO stands for fixed base operator.

Erick agreed, adding “We were lucky we knew how to get in. Pilot secrets are great!”as both chuckled once more and thanked Bristow citizenry, expressing gratitude for the availability of the “very nice”facility.

As they climbed aboard their plane to depart, they noted they may stop in Bristow again to make use of the nice facility in the future. The following weekend, they flew to Kansas City.
