Bristow held their June meeting on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, with the leader training lesson being 'Mediterranean Cooking/Diet Dr. Joyce Wade Kinslow began by explaining terminology, food lists, benefits, etc. and also recipes. A omparison of the New Food Pyramid and Mediterranean Diet was also explained.
In addition, lifestyle changes, ieø exercise, were suggested. Handouts, including information and recipes, were given to each member,.
This lesson correlates with last months' lesson of 'Relax Your Way to Better Blood Pressure,' Last months Leader Lesson that was presented by Tonya Edwards. It included deep breathing, calming music and a five minute daily reset, as way of slowing down heart and relaxing the blood vessel.
As with most Leader Lessons, members were given informational handouts, and also recipes. After the Mediterranean Diet lesson, members tasted Mediterranean food examples consisting of fruits, vegetables, Feta Cheese, etc.
Other aspects of the OHCE June meeting began with VOPO Tanja Edwards leading the group in U S. pledge and OHCE pledge. This was followed by Devotion Ch. Ray Kinslowts questions of who were ten of the women in the Old Testament Roll call was response to favorite Mediterranean recipe. Pam's Household Hints for this month was the uses of Peroxide. President Kathy Thompson and others reported on our donation to the Kellyville Fire Department and other future scheduling places and times.
Other business included discussion of Creek County Fair projects, our Social Services Feminine Project and hosting/visiting other clubs, The Bristow OHCE meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 10 am in the Trinity Baptist Church Youth Building, All are Welcome!
