When the first snow day came along, a couple of Depew residents, being bored from being cooped up inside, came up with an idea to add a little fun to their lives. David White, of Depew, challenged his neighbor, Michael Wren, to go outside in his swim trunks ad make a snow angel. Little did they know this would turn into a community event. Wren decided he would donate $10 to the Depew Senior Center for his snow angel. Things snowballed from there. The community got involed, and one by one, people started challenging each other and others started donating money for evey video that was posted on social media. As of Feb. 23, 2021, they have raised over $3,180 which will be donated to the senior citizen center. What a wonderful, but very cold, idea to help the center and get the community involved in these times of the pandemic.
