Even though the area has seen some much needed rain, fire fighters are continuously battling wildfires.
Last week firefighters fought a large fire off South 48 Highway, where due to high winds and the dry conditions, the blaze burned several acres.
Another fire broke out burning over 300 acres. This fire started on private property then jumped Highway 33 shutting down the highway for several hours. Twelve agencies assisted throughout the day to get this fire under controll.
What little rain the area has had has been a tremendous help in getting the drought like conditions under control but we are not out of the woods yet.
