Crash involving three teenagers near Depew

On Saturday, Jan. 6, three teenagers were involved in an accident on 231st Street South, three miles north of Depew. A 16 year old juvenile, from Stroud, who was driving a 2001 Dodge pickup, with two passengers, ages 17 and 18 were traveling at an unreasonable speed when the vehicle departed the roadway to the right, striking a tree and rolling a quarter of time onto the passenger side. During the roll the two passengers were thrown from the passenger window, approximately five feet. All three victims were taken to St. Francis, in Tulsa. The 16 year old was treated and released. The 18 year old, Conner Turtle, from Stroud, was admitted in stable condition. The 17 year old was also admitted in stable condition. Seat belts were in use by the driver only.

A separate vehicle accident occurred on State Highway 66 near Welston. A 2018 Ford Fiesta, driven by Susan Chase, age 62, of Welston, and a 2007 Dodge Caliber, driven by Andrea Clardy, age 37, also of Wellston were both traveling eastbound on Hwy 66 when the Ford struck the rear of the Caliber pushing the vehicle across the center line. The Cabiler hit head on into a 2020 Freightliner semi-truck, driven by 50 year old Aaron Martin, of Forney, Texas. The driver of the Cabiler was pinned in the vehicle for approximately 29 minutes being freed using the Hurst tool. She was then transported by Medflight to OU Medical Center. The driver of the semi was unharmed and the driver of the Ford refused treatment at the scene. Seatbelts were in use.
