COVID-19 continues increase

As the months continue to go by, the rise in coronavirus cases is also continuing to increase, taking lives as it moves through communities, counties and states. As of Oct. 5, 2020, the number of infected as risen across the nation to 7,457,402, taking the lives of 210,181.

In Oklahoma alone, the total amount of confirmed cases reported is at 91,982 and the death toll has reached 1,055. Bristow is now at 197 cases and 9 deaths as a result of the virus.

According to the Oklahoma Department of Health, 35.94 percent of cases are in the age range of 18 - 35; 21.7 percent are in the age range of 36 - 49, with 17.7 percent in the age range of 50 - 64 and 13.6 percent are 65 and older.

Follow these simple tips to protect yourself and those around you during the COVID-19 pandemic:

Maintain social distancing by avoiding close contact with others (about 6 feet);

Wear a cloth face covering that covers your nose and mouth when in public settings;

Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces often;

Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer containing at least 60% alcohol.
