The Bristow City Council met Monday evening to discuss several agenda items which included discussion on appointment of Vicki Groom to fill the unexpired term of council member Tex Slyman, who had earlier resigned from the council. The board voted against the appointment due to Groom having close ties to the mayor through her daughter-in-law.

The council went on to discuss and approve several claims for the airport and the swimming pool to be paid and considered the approval of a parks and recreation agreement for the calendar year 2022 for the Bristow Roundup Club, the Bristow Sports Complex and the Bristow Soccer Club.

A public hearing was opened to discuss the 2021- 2022 revised budget, then closed after discussion. The board discussed recommendation of the Planning and Zoning Board regarding the application for a special use permit for a medical marijuana grow house located at 301 East First Street.

The board then heard discussion on going paperless for city council meeting packets and possibly livestreaming the city council meetings.

The council went into executive session to discuss the employment of Justin Plum for the water department and Godfrey Washington for the street department.

After reconvening, the board adjourned the meeting and went directly to the hospital and municipal side of the meeting where discussion took place regarding upgrades to the Bristow Hospital and operations of the urgent care facility, along with the status of the medicare provider number.
