The Bristow City Council's meeting was held on Tuesday evening instead of the normal Monday due to the honoring o Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday, Jan. 17.

The council held the invocation and the Pledge of Allegiance then got down to meeting business approving paid and un-paid claims, capital improvement claims and payroll claims. The board discussed possible approvement of adopting a resolution of the city council expressing its appreciation of the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, acknowledging receipt of funding from the foundation for the purchase of fire hoses, authorizing the mayor and fire chief to take action to facilitate the purchase and acquisition.

The board also discussed possible approval of annexation procedures and the process of adoption of ordinances.

On the municipal side of the meeting, the board again discussed approval of paid and unpaid claims, along with payroll claims. Also discussing possible action regarding charges for the purchase of water pursuant to a water purchase contract dated Dec. 4, 1978 with Slick Public Works Authority.

After adjourning the municipal side of the meeting, the board then moved on to discuss the Bristow Hospital Authority agenda, receiving an update on the licensure of Bristow Medical Center to be obtained by Carrus Lakeside Hospital and the status of Carrus obtainng a medicare provider number.

The next meeting of the city council will be held on Monday, Jan. 31.
