City council holds meeting Monday evening

The council members met in chambers Monday evening with a lengthy agenda in front of them.

Discussion was made on possible action to appoint Kevin Webster to the Economic Development Board and to reappoint Jamie Braden and Melissa holderby to the library board. Both Braden and Holderby’s term will expire in May 2025.

The board discussed possible action to name Tenth Street Park the Toni Godwin Park after Ms. Godwin who is the director of Bristow Social Services.

Possible action was discussed to award a bid received from Nobel Systems to install a security camera system and an access control door to the new terminal building at the airport. Other iems discussed were action on declaring one Ford F350 truck as surplus and a resolution determining cost in the amount of $7,163.46 on property located in the Southridge addition known as 1502 S. Oak, property belonging to Bobby and Thelma Mahan.

A presentation, from Janet Hamel, treasurer, was given to the board regarding the 2022 - 2023 budget.

The board went into executive session to discuss the employment of Danny Gann as animal control officer and and Carl Reed as a police officer.

After adjournment of the city agenda the council moved on to the municipal and the hosipital authority agenda.

The board meets the first and third meeting of each month.
