City council holds first meeting of the new year

The Bristow City Council met in its first meeting of 2022, on Monday evening. The board faced a shorter agenda on the first meeting of the new year.

After the roll call of all council members, the invocation and the Pledge of Allegiance, the board approved the minutes from the last meeting and approved claims for maintenance, paid and un-paid claims, along with payroll claims. The board moved on to discuss a possible resolution supporting the Bristow Historical Society, a non profit organization and authorizing a payment to the society for historical education, recre ation and other programs.

The council then went into executive session to discuss with legal counsel, the possible employment of Carl Reed as animal control officer on a six month probationary period. After returning from executive session, the board adjourned the city side of the meeting and opened the municipal authority where after roll call and approval of the minutes of the last meeting, claims, maintenance, paid and un-paid claims were discussed along with payroll and estimated payroll claims were discussed.

After the municipal side of the meeting was adjourned the board then went to the hospital authority side of the agenda, where the council discussed possible approval of a lease agreement between the Bristow Hospital Authority and Carrus Lakeside Hospital LLC for the therapy building located at 122 West Fourth Street. After approval of the consent agenda for the Bristow Hospital Authority, the meeting was adjourned.
