City council discusses appointment of new planning/zoning and board of adjustment members

The Bristow City Council held its regular meeting Monday evening discussing city, municipal, and hospital authority agenda items. The meeting began with a presentation from Jake Manus regarding broad band. The board then discussed adopting a resolution to appoint a committee to study broad band and authorize application for all funding possibilities, including working with broad band providers.

The council discussed and approved blocking off Main Street from 12th Street to Fourth Street from 6 – 8 p.m. on Dec. 2 for the annual Christmas parade.

The council then discussed reappointing Larry Armer, whose term will expire January 2024; the reappointment of Don Baker, term to expire January 2025 and the appointment of Wayne Thomas, to replace Ralph Barnett, and term to expire in January 2025, to the planning and zoning board.

The board also discussed reappointment of Don Baker, term expiring January 2025, and the appointment of Wayne Thomas, who replaces Ralph Barnett, term to expire January 2025; Tommy Herman whose term is to expire January 2024; Wade Snelling, term expiring January 2024 and Gavin Giesman, whose term is to expire January 2023, to the Board of Adjustments.

The council then moved on to the hospital and municipal side of the meeting. Upon opening the hospital authority side of the meeting the board immediately went into executive session to discuss with legal counsel the pending litigation in the case of Bristow Endeavor Healthcare LLC vs. the Bristow Hospital Authority, Case CV 2021-142, including discussion of a possible settlement and resolution of the litigation. After closing the executive session, the council discussed appoving a sub-lease agreement between the Bristow Hospital Authority and Carrus Lakeside Hospital LLC, for real property and the curent hospital and discussion of approving a ground lease for constuction of the new hospital.
