City council approves purchase of fire truck

The Bristow City Council met in its regular meeting on Monday evening. The board discussed several agenda items including approval of a Resolution of the City Council of the City of Bristow, waiving formal competitive bidding for the purchase of a 2005 Pierce Dash Rescue pumper, declaring that the waiver is in the best interests of the citizens and taxpayers of the City of Bristow, approving and authorizing an Inter-local Fire Apparatus Purchase agreement with the City of Jenks. The board also approved a claim to the City of Jenks in the amount of $60,000 for the purchase of a 2005 Pierce custom fire truck.

The board approved a resolution of the city council approving a First amendment to an Economic Development Agreement by and among the City of Bristow, the Bristow Industrial Authority, PAS MRO, and MDM Investments declaring approximately 5.1 acres of real property located to the east of Maplecated to the east of Maple Street, south of Industrial Road, less the area where the city's water tower is located, authorizing the transfer of the real property to PAS MRO pursuant to the Economic Developemnt Agreement.

The council discussed and approved possible action regarding progams for the Bristow Animal Shelter, including action to authorize a partnership with Bristow Barnyards Resuce for fostering, adoption, spaying, neutering and other services. The board authorized the city attorney to draft a memorandum of understanding.

The board will meet in its next council meeting on Monday, Nov. 2.
