The Bristow Public Library will be hosting its second annual Crown’s Tea. The all-ages high tea occurs Saturday, February 3, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Bristow Public Library.

Based on the book Crowns: Portraits of Black Women in Church Hats by Michael Cunningham, the event includes a presentation and open discussion from OKC-based Thick Descriptions.

The event is funded by the Oklahoma Humanities Council. Refreshments will be served.

Children, accompanied by their grownups, are welcome to attend. Hats, of any and all kinds, are strongly encouraged. Business-casual or formal attire is appreciated as well.

According to BPL Executive Director Heather Hutto, the well-recieved event is almost completely booked for this year, “This is definitely one of the best events the library has to offer, and seats are filling up fast!” she said.

The event is free, but registration is required. Call or stop by the library to register for the event.

For more information about the Crowns Tea or registration, contact the library at (918) 367-6562.
