Bristow OHCE holds meeting

Vice President, Carolyn Kuykendall presented factual information about hummingbirds, such as their size, how fast they fly, flowers they eat, etc. Kuykendall, who is also President of Bristow Garden Club, provided a list of plants and flowers that will attract hummingbirds. Kuykendall explained to members by showing an example of a bird feeder that would attract hummingbirds.

Other business during the Bristow OHCE meeting included electing a new secretary, Rebecca Bond, as Janet Byrd has moved to Arkansas. Various craft projects were discussed, including making knit tank tops, photo books, etc. Several items were shown by new member, Sheryl Cortez. She brought examples that especially targeted on recycling and making low cost items. These included making a wind chime using an old colander and old keys, butterflies using cardboard and foil, and a “Whirly-Wind” from a plastic bottle. porting on the virtual district meeting and athe upcoming Creek County OHCE Rummage Sale during OHCE week, the first week in May. This will be at the Creek County Extension exhibit hall on May 5-7, 2021. The public is invited to come for various assorted items of interest such as clothing, books, etc.
