A new scam has surfaced according to the Better Business Bureau (BBB). The scam is being called the Brushing Scam. You have a package delivered to your doorstep. You know you have not ordered anything and have no idea what is inside, but the package has your name and address on it and in most case, has no return address on it. Once the package is delivered they know that it is a verified address and they use the consumer's information to write a great review online about the product. The scam is the company turning around and using your information on the review, making it sound like it is the best product and in return getting more business for their company because of all the great reviews.
According to the BBB, you can legally keep the packages but they recommend going to that company's website or trying to find the product and see if a review has been entered in your name, If you do find a review on that product using your name that you know you didn't write, contact the company and tell them it is a false review and have it taken off their website.
