Bristow will take part in the United Way's National Day of Caring, which will take place Friday, Oct. 1, 2021. Bristow has participated in this for several years.
United Day of Caring takes place every year. A day to do something kind for someone else. A day to make a phone call to someone who is shut in, help someone in anyway to let them know that you care and help put a smile on their face.
On Friday, Oct. 1, the Bristow High School Leadership Class and volunteers will put a smile on someone’s face by helping weed eat clean a flower bed, paint or whatever they can do to help. This year the class, along with the volunteers, will be working at the Bristow Social Services and Bristow Community Center.
Please take a few minutes or a whole day to do something kind for someone. The reward that you feel definitely out weighs what you did for that someone.
If you would like to volunteer, all you need to do is show up at the social services by 8 a.m. on Friday or if you would like more information, you can contact Sharon VanOrsdol at (918) 510-2541. Work will begin at 8 a.m. and will continue until noon at which time lunch for the volunteers will be served.
