VFW District 8 Patriot Pen Winner

After winning the 2020–2021 Patriot Pen contest at the Bristow VFW Post 3656, Katherine Wilhite advanced to the VFW District 8. There were over 20 other essay contestants in the competition, but Katherine had the winning essay. She then advanced to the VFW State level where other District winners would compete in hopes of advancing to the VFW National level. For winning the District level, Katherine was presented a plaque from VFW District 8 and a $100 check. On behalf of the VFW Post 3656, we would like to congratulate Katherine for advancing so far in the competition and are hoping to see more of her stylistic writing in the future. Once the National VFW notifies us of the next essay theme, the Bristow VFW Post 3656 will be speaking with the local schools in the hope of getting more children to show off their writing skills by competing in the Patriot Pen and the Voices of Democracy.
