In tribute to all of the servicemen and women who selflessly served and sacrificed while remaining publicly unacknowledged, Bristow VFW Post 3656 Auxiliary members complete community service. Service projects vary but all honor veterans, military families, and the communities in which they reside. Local Auxiliary President Letha Caudle makes it a point to award local members for their community service contributions in acknowledgement of their efforts.

President Letha Caudle began awarding members contributing 100 hours or more. Each month, she adds awards. Members receiving awards for 100 hours of community service completion include Norma Carman, Letha Caudle, Virginia Ray, Maria Harris, and Ruth Jaytanie.

Members who contributed greater than 200 hours of community service are Virginia Ray, Norma Carman, Ruth Jaytanie, and Letha Caudle.

Contributing at least 300 hours of community service, Norma Carman, Virginia Ray, and Letha Caudle each received awards.

Last month’s awards for a minimum of 400 hours of community service went to Virginia Ray and Letha Caudle. Those two ladies also received an award in April for completing more than 500 hours of community service. At least one additional member has completed more than 500 hours of community service; however, that member opted to remain anonymous in tribute to those she serves.

As VFW Post 3656 Auxiliary President, Letha states that the awards will continue. Some of the members have contributed around 1000 hours throughout the year. Together, the VFW Post 3656 Auxiliary has served more than 3000 hours since June 2020.
