Late Tuesday afternoon, a Mannford police officer, Matthew Waltman, age 42, was booked into the Creek County jail on alleged connection with an incident involving a male student at Mannford Schools.

The alleged charges against Waltman is first degree rape and furnishing alcohol to a minor. The affidavit states that Waltman invited the student to his home and each of them drank 12 shots of whiskey. It says the student got sick and had to lay down, but awoke to Waltman allegedly assaulting him. The student then demanded to be taken home and Waltman finally agreed. The affidavit says that a second student came forward stating that he was also at Waltman's home a month prior and was given beer but claimed there was no sexual contact with Waltman.

Waltman not only has been a police officer for the last nine years but also the resource officer for the Mannford School District.

In the statement from the Mannford School District, it states “that they immediately contacted the proper authorities and continue to work with the impacted student, the family of the student and all other authorities.”
