First case of COVID-19 reported in Bristow Schools

The Bristow Pubic Schools informed school patrons that the school had its first case of the virus. The case was a kindergartener who attends Collins Elementary. The student is currently in isolation per the Creek County Health Department's recommendation. Under guidance of the health department, contract tracing was conducted to determine close contacts within the school. Those staff and students considered to be close contacts and needing to be quarantined have been notified.

Bristow Pubic Schools will continue to use the recommended protocols it has in place such as seating charts in classrooms, cafeteria, buses and locker rooms. Physical distancing, hand washing and thorough cleaning of the facilities before and after use will continue to be enforced with all staff and student groups.

The safety and welfare of all students and staff remains the school's top prority.

As of Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2020, Creek County has reported 1,692, confirmed cases of the virus since the pandemic began. The county has seen 39 deaths from the virus. Bristow continues to see an increase in the number of confirmed cases, going up 12 cases over the weekend, reaching a total of 249 since March, but the good news is that Bristow has not seen any more deaths .The community remains at nine deaths.

Acording to the CDC, the country will see a dark month of December due to the increase in cases and are urging people to please wear a mask. Some states are shutting back down and are mandating mask wearing.
